Allison Iraheta sings 'Someone to Watch Over Me'

Happy Birthday Allison Iraheta! You’re 17!

Wow, great vocals. This song was perfect for Allison.

Allison Iraheta performed "Someone to Watch Over Me" by Frank Sinatra on the American Idol season 8 Top 5 competition. Allison Iraheta is now 17. She just celebrated her birthday. Allison was so soulful. Randy, Kara, Paula liked it except Simon. Simon rated it 7/10.

Singing "Someone to Watch Over Me," the perfect song for her voice. Jamie Foxx says she's "leaps and bounds" beyond her years, says she's going to "shock the world" if she sings this song the way she can.

Oh man, we may have a moment here... such a perfect, sultry, deliberate beginning. Really showing off her huge voice; audience is totally quiet listening. Great tone, walks around that stage like she owns it. This is her best performance of the finals; so much power and control, with emotion and a heck of a closing. Big cheers.

Randy is just sitting there with a big grin; says "you sing like Pink, but with like 9,000 more octaves," and "I loved it." Kara says "I ain't nervous for you anymore," predicts lots of new fans tonight; "gut-wrenching," should land you in the finals. Paula loves her too, says she's been waiting so long for a ballad.

Simon asks if she thinks she can win, Allison says "I think I can." He says great performance, but not sure if you have that belief yet, maybe you've just been been overshadowed by some of the other personalities. Simon says he has a horrible feeling she could be in trouble tonight.
