Good Bye to Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds

American Idol' season eight says goodbye to two contestants who stumbled on Disco Night, leaving five to compete for the title.

Anoop Desai is cut from "American Idol," as a record-breaking 45 million people voted Ryan says. He hugs Allison Iraheta; he looks pretty disappointed as he sings "Dim All the Lights," with his hand in his pocket.

It's an OK performance; it didn't seem like Anoop was having as much fun on the show the last few weeks, but he's still one of my favorites from this season.

And then there were five. "American Idol" has chopped out two contestants from its eight season after giving Matt Giraud a second chance last week through the one-time Judges' Save. Those meeting the end of the journey are Memphis native Lil Rounds and Wild Card pick Anoop Desai.

Both Rounds and Desai stumbled on Disco night. The former sang Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" and got butchered by the judges, with Simon Cowell predicting that she's going home. Desai, who got the privilege of performing last, sang Donna Summer's "Dim All the Lights" and Simon thought it was his worst performance.
